Kitty goes to Washington, although it wasn't the trip she expected . . . in the long run. Kitty was invited to testify at a Senate hearing on her behalf on supernaturals beings such as vampires, werewolves, jaguars? This cities has many surprises and what surprises Kitty even more was the head vampire of the area Alette a very old vampire and kind too (that a first). Dr. Flemming was the doctor doing research on these so called supernaturals being, he consider them as conditions or death like high allergy to sunlight for vampires.(Yeah right). Kitty has Ben, her lawyer by her side during the hearing only to be frustrated with her for doing thins her way attracting more attention to herself. So what happens next? Kitty meet a Brazilian were-jaguar and a few dark secret of Dr. Flemming's research. Cormac is back to help her figure out what was going on after a couple pass by hearing when she was supposed to testify, Kitty was then betray by Leo (one of Alette's bodyguard/vampire) then she was broadcast live of her shifting on a full moon, cowering in the cage showing no violet at all, In the end Ben set up multiple lawsuits and Kitty decided that its time to get away from the spotlight for awhile. Overall this book was okay, I thought it had a very slow-pace reading where I wished there was more action or fast-paced "oh my god" kind-of moments. It focuses a lot on this hearing that never seems to end and it needed more of Kitty actually thinking on her feet rather than sitting.
